The stop of a suspect vehicle has led to the arrest of two people on suspicion of theft offences in Folkestone.
On Saturday 3 September 2022, officers from the Roads Policing Unit were alerted to a Land Rover Freelander which was identified as being a clone.
Upon stopping the vehicle in Park Farm Road, they found about £1,000 of electrical equipment that had been reported stolen from a store earlier that day. The two people in the vehicle, a 30-year-old man and a 25-year-old woman, both from East Sussex were arrested on suspicion of the theft of the equipment and also for an alleged theft of a washing machine and bed from a property in Folkestone in July.
The male was also arrested on suspicion of driving a motor vehicle without insurance and fraudulently altering a registration document.
