Two arrests have been made following work carried out to disrupt suspected organised crime in the Folkestone and Hythe district.
During the morning of Wednesday 18 December 2024, Kent Police officers carried out a warrant at an industrial unit in Dengemarsh Road, Lydd.
Neighbourhood officers attended the area, following a report made regarding suspected criminal activity taking place.
Within the unit, local officers found a cannabis cultivation, containing in excess of 2,000 plants. A large quantity of harvested cannabis bud was also found, along with cultivating equipment, fans, and lighting.
Two arrests were made as part of the investigation.
Thai Son Dang, 31, and 32 year old Toan Ta, both of no fixed address, were each charged with being concerned in the production of cannabis.
Both men appeared at Maidstone Magistrates’ Court on 19 December where they were remanded in custody. The case will next be heard at Canterbury Crown Court on 20 January 2025.
