Two suspects have been charged in connection with the assault of a police officer in Maidstone.
At around 11.15am on Wednesday 21 October 2020 the officer was making local enquiries in Woodside Road, Mangravet.
As he approached a parked vehicle, it is alleged two men assaulted the officer before running away.
Two suspects were later arrested in connection with the incident and taken into custody.
The injured officer was taken to hospital for treatment to injuries and has since been discharged.
On Thursday 22 October, David Hilden and Robbie Booth, both aged 22, were each charged with attempting to cause grievous bodily harm with intent and with possessing cannabis with intent to supply.
Mr Hilden and Mr Booth, both of no fixed address, were remanded in custody to appear before Medway Magistrates’ Court on Friday 23 October.
Investigators are continuing to appeal to anyone in the area with CCTV or dashcam footage, which may assist the investigation.
