A stop and search in Tonbridge led to two suspected shoplifters being charged.
At around 7.15pm on Friday 1 March 2024, proactive patrols stopped a suspicious vehicle in Sovereign Way.
A subsequent search led to the seizure of a large quantity of toiletries, including toothbrushes, nappies, and nicotine replacement products, suspected to be stolen.
Officers also seized two pairs of licence plates.
The driver and the passenger were arrested at the scene.
Davie McDonagh, aged 19, of Ashford High Street, and Gary Warde, aged 26, of Sliabh Rua, Galway, were later charged with shoplifting. Mr McDonagh was further charged for driving without insurance.
Both suspects have since been bailed to appear before Medway Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday 19 March.
