Two men charged in connection to Walderslade assault

Charges have been authorised against two men following a serious assault near Walderslade.

At around 9.45pm on Monday 20 July 2026 Kent Police was called to a report of an assault in Spenlow Drive, Boxley, after a man in his 30s sustained injuries consistent with stab wounds. The victim remains in hospital in a serious but stable condition.

At around 1.10am the following morning armed officers arrested a 28 year old man in London Road, West Malling. A second man, aged 26, was arrested at Tonbridge police station on Tuesday 21 July.

On Wednesday 22 July Ronnie Welsh, 28, of Old Orchard Lane, Leybourne, and 26 year old Alfie Welsh, of Drayton Close, High Halstow, were both charged with grievous bodily harm with intent and possession of an offensive weapon in a public place.

Ronnie Welsh was additionally charged with possession of cannabis.

Both men appeared at West Kent Magistrates’ Court on Thursday 23 July where they were remanded in custody. They are both due to appear at Maidstone Crown Court on Friday 21 August.
