Two men have both appeared in court following a report of a serious assault in Chatham.
At around 9am on Friday 20 August 2021, a man in his 40s was sitting on a bench in Clover Street when he was approached by two men he did not know.
It is alleged the men assaulted him causing head injuries that required hospital treatment.
Following the incident officers arrested Jack Larkin, of New Road, Chatham and John Shade, of Meadowbank Road, Chatham. Both men were later charged with grievous bodily harm with intent.
Mr Larkin, aged 29 and Mr Shade, aged 33 appeared before Medway Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday 24 August and Thursday 27 August respectively.
Both were remanded to a hearing at Maidstone Crown Court on Tuesday 21 September.
