A vehicle stop by Roads Policing officers led to a man being arrested on suspicion of vehicle theft and other offences.
Officers were on patrol at around 9am on Saturday 4 December when they spotted a vehicle that they believed may have been stolen from the Ashford area the night before.
The patrol followed the car until it stopped for petrol at the services on the M2 in Gillingham.
The driver, a man in his twenties from the Erith area, was arrested on suspicion of theft of a motor vehicle, driving whilst unfit through drugs and driving without insurance or a licence.
He has been released under investigation whilst enquiries continue.
