A weapon has been seized and a man arrested following a proactive stop by officers in Canterbury.
Patrols in New Dover Road became aware of a man behaving suspiciously shortly after 4.30pm on Tuesday 31 March 2026.
Officers approached the man, who left the scene on foot. He was detained following a brief foot chase.
Searches nearby led to a suspected imitation firearm being seized. Further searches were completed, resulting in the recovery of a quantity of counterfeit notes.
The 24 year old man, from the local area, was arrested in connection with firearms offences and taken into custody. He has been bailed while enquiries continue.
