Woman charged with Maidstone murder

Detectives have charged a woman with a murder in Maidstone.

The suspect was arrested following the death of a 52-year-old man in Lower Boxley Road.

Kent Police was called to the scene at 6pm on Monday 11 September 2023, where the victim was treated for injuries consistent with stab wounds by South East Coast Ambulance Service. He was confirmed deceased shortly after.

Arrest

The woman, who was known to the victim, was taken into custody and an investigation commenced by the Kent and Essex Serious Crime Directorate.

In the early hours of Wednesday 13 September, the Crown Prosecution Service authorised a charge of murder against Stephane Langley, of Wilsons Lane, Maidstone. She was also charged with a count of possessing a knife in a public place.

The 54-year-old appeared before Medway Magistrates' Court later the same day where she was remanded to a hearing at Maidstone Crown Court on Friday 15 September.
