Appeal for witnesses to a serious injury collision near Mereworth

Investigators have issued an appeal for information after a pedestrian was injured in a collision with a car near Mereworth, West Malling.
At around 6.10pm on Thursday 20 February 2020, a man in his 50s was standing next to a parked articulated lorry in a layby on the A228 Malling Road between the junctions with Tonbridge Road and Kent Street, when he was involved in a collision with a white Ford Fiesta.
Left the scene
The Fiesta left the scene and the victim was taken to a local hospital where he was treated for serious injuries.
Investigating officer, PC Michael Potter said: ‘We would like to hear from anybody who was driving along this stretch of road at around 6.10pm on 20 February and witnessed the incident or had dash cam fitted to their vehicle that may have caught an image of the Fiesta.'
