Witnesses sought to an attempted assault in Ashford

Witnesses who have not yet spoken to officers about an attempted assault in Ashford are asked to come forward.
Kent Police is investigating a report that following a disturbance in Bailey’s Field at 8am on 15 June 2020, a bystander who was sitting in his van nearby, was threatened with a knife.
The suspect was verbally abusive and reportedly pushed his arm and the knife through the open window of the vehicle, but did not injure the victim. The victim was then able to safely close his window and leave the area.
Suspect
The suspect was described as a white man with a small to medium build, 5ft 8in tall. He had ginger hair and was wearing a grey North Face hooded top and black tracksuit bottoms.
A 20-year-old man from Lydd was arrested in connection with the incident and has since been released without charge.
