Investigation launched after woman assaulted in Dover street

Witnesses are sought after a woman was assaulted in an early morning incident in Dover.
The woman in her 50s reported that she was walking along Folkestone Road shortly before 7am on Tuesday 20 October 2020 when she was approached by a man who spoke to her and then assaulted her.
She sustained bruising and other injuries which required hospital treatment.
An 18-year-old man from Dover was subsequently arrested in connection with the incident. He has been released on bail until 8 November while enquiries continue.
Detective Inspector Cara Ferguson said: ‘The assault took place near a set of a temporary traffic lights in Folkestone Road, so we believe there are motorists who were in the area and might have seen something which could assist our enquiries.’
