Two charges after man arrested by armed officers in Gillingham

Two charges have been authorised against a suspect who was arrested by armed officers in Medway.
Harry Agyn is alleged to have assaulted a man at a private address in Britton Street, Gillingham, at around 10pm on Saturday 26 December 2020.
Following the disturbance, he is said to have walked away from the scene while holding a firearm.
He was quickly located by armed officers in Canterbury Street and an air pistol is reported to have been seized as part of enquiries.
The 44-year-old, of Britton Street, was later charged with common assault and possessing an imitation firearm in a public place.
He was remanded in custody to appear at Medway Magistrates’ Court on Monday 28 December. At the hearing he was released on bail to attend Maidstone Magistrates’ Court on Monday 8 March 2021.
