Court appearance for suspected east Kent cocaine dealers

A pair of suspected cocaine dealers from Herne Bay and Whitstable have appeared at court, following an investigation by the Kent and Essex Serious Crime Directorate.
Gavin Calloway of Fairoaks, Herne Bay, and Charles Hodges of Kent Street, Whitstable, were arrested on Wednesday 6 January 2021 after search warrants were executed at their home addresses.
Investigators seized three mobile phones at Mr Calloway’s house and a quantity of cash at premises occupied by Mr Hodges.

Charged
Mr Calloway, aged 42, and Mr Hodges, aged 33, were later charged with conspiracy to import cocaine into the United Kingdom between 1 March and 12 June 2020, conspiracy to supply cocaine and conspiracy to supply diazepam.
On Thursday 7 January, they were both remanded by Folkestone Magistrates’ Court to appear at a hearing before Canterbury Crown Court on 8 February.
