Suspected shoplifting team arrested in Tunbridge Wells

A group of suspected shoplifters has been tracked down and arrested by officers from the Tunbridge Wells Community Policing Team.

Kent Police received an allegation on 29 October 2020, that a large quantity of cosmetics had been stolen from Boots the Chemist in Calverley Road.

At around 11.30am on Thursday 7 January 2021, patrols attended the town centre after receiving a report that suspects for the theft had been seen in the area.

Arrests

The officers stopped a vehicle in Garden Street and a 37-year-old man from Ilford, Greater London, was arrested on suspicion of theft and taken into custody.

Officers also detained three girls aged 17, 16 and 13, also from the Ilford area, in connection with the same offence.
