Knifeman jailed for attacking two men in Dartford

A masked man has been jailed for more than nine years after a targeted knife attack in Dartford.

Razak Osomo lunged at two men with a large blade as they stood by a car in Heath Lane in September last year.

The 23-year-old, who was wearing a balaclava at the time, tried stabbing one in the stomach but missed.

He then attacked the second man who had climbed into the car and tried to shut the door.

Osomo, of nearby Willow Road, attempted to pull the door open, stabbing at the victim 15 to 20 times causing injuries to the man’s arm.

He was arrested close to the scene with a nine-inch hunting knife, a six-inch lock knife, and a balaclava in a rucksack.

He was jailed for nine years and six months at Woolwich Crown Court on Friday 26 January after pleading guilty to wounding with intent.

Investigating officer Detective Constable Lucy Macland said: ‘This was a particularly vicious and targeted attack on two men who were known to Osomo.

‘Osomo was clearly intent on inflicting as much damage as possible. He lashed out at both men in a frenzied manner and it’s very fortunate that only minor injuries were suffered.

‘He was stopped and arrested shortly after the attack. I’d like to thank the public for their vigilance in reporting the incident immediately and providing a good description that aided us to locate and detain Osomo.’
