Officers charge two people with drug offences following stop in Strood

Two people have appeared in court after officers on a routine patrol stopped a vehicle.

Marco Nunes, 25, of Ibscott Close, Dagenham, and a 17-year-old teenage girl from Chafford Hundred in Essex, were both charged with drug offences after they were stopped in a car on Friday 2 February.

Officers stopped the pair in Strood High Street at around 11am after becoming suspicious of the car.

They were subsequently arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply crack cocaine and heroin. The teenager was also arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply cannabis.

Both people appeared before Medway Magistrates’ Court on Saturday 3 February and Marco Nunes was remanded to appear before Maidstone Crown Court on Friday 2 March.

The teenage girl was bailed with conditions and will also appear at the same court on the same date.
