Drugs arrest in Canterbury

A man and a teenage boy have been arrested on suspicion of drug offences in Canterbury.

A 15-year-old boy from Essex was arrested in the city by officers from Canterbury Community Policing Team on Sunday 10 February 2019.

He was arrested on suspicion of being concerned in the supply of drugs. A mobile phone and cash were seized by officers. He has been released under investigation.

Second arrest

During subsequent enquiries officers arrested a 19-year-old Canterbury man on Monday 11 February 2019 on suspicion of being concerned in the supply of drugs and human trafficking.

He has been bailed until Sunday 3 March 2019 while enquiries continue.

Both arrests were made as part of an ongoing initiative known as Operation Raptor, which is designed to tackle, disrupt and prevent violent crime and the possession of offensive weapons, as well as the supply of class A drugs.
