Suspected thieves arrested after stopping in traffic
Four suspected thieves have been arrested by Kent Police after their car stopped in traffic near the Dartford Crossing.

The arrests were made after officers on patrol in the Watling Street area became suspicious of a car they saw being driven at around 10.45pm on Wednesday 7 March.

Intelligence reports revealed the vehicle was believed to be connected to several burglaries and they continued to observe it travelling in Princes Road, Bob Dunn Way and along the A282.

The car, a silver BMW 5 series, then had to stop for stationary traffic on the approach to the Dartford Crossing and at this point officers boxed it in before leaving their patrol cars to speak with the driver.

They found four people inside the car and arrested each person on suspicion of going equipped for theft. They are:
  • A 24-year-old man from Woolwich.
  • A 26-year-old man from Ipswich.
  • An 18-year-old man from Woolwich.
  • A 16-year-old boy from Woolwich.
They have since been released pending further enquiries.
