Two charged with burglary following police pursuit

Two men have been charged with offences including burglary following a police pursuit which started in Tonbridge and ended in London.

Kent Police was called at 3.56pm on Saturday 15 July 2017, to a report of a burglary in Sovereign Way, Tonbridge.

Pursuit assisted by helicopter

Officers attended the scene and a vehicle believed to be involved was identified on the A21, which failed to stop when requested to do so.

A pursuit of the vehicle was assisted by a police helicopter and officers from the Metropolitan Police.  It was bought to a safe stop in Wharf Street in London.

Charged and remanded to court

Two men were arrested and have now been charged as follows:

David Stone, aged 50, of Mortlake Road, Canning Town, London is charged with burglary and aggravated vehicle taking.

Lee Brown, aged 49, of Forty Acre Lane, Canning Town, is charged with burglary, aggravated vehicle taking and driving whilst disqualified.

Both men were remanded in custody to appear before a magistrates’ court on 17 July.
