The families of patients who died at Gosport War Memorial Hospital are thanked for their assistance as the independent investigation into the deaths of their loved ones continues.
It is more than three years since the investigation was launched in April 2019, and in that time the team of around 150 officers and staff have recovered and are assessing more than three million pages of documents. They have also taken witness statements from over 1,000 people.
The next Family Forum meeting is due to take place in Fareham in September 2022 and further details will shortly be communicated via email or post.
Deputy Assistant Commissioner Neil Jerome of Operation Magenta said: ‘I am very much looking forward to meeting the families again to provide them with an update on the investigation, which is continuing at pace.
‘An investigation of this scale and complexity clearly takes time to carry out and is vital in ensuring all available evidence is captured and investigated to ensure it is carried out thoroughly and objectively in accordance with the law.’
