Positive Action includes a range of activities delivered under the Equality Act 2010, that help create equality of opportunity in the workplace. Kent Police use Positive Action to enable and encourage people with protected characteristics to overcome barriers preventing them from considering a career with Kent Police.
In addition to our other Positive Action activities, we are offering an exciting opportunity for you to enrol in our Positive Action Engagement Programme, designed specifically for those from an ethnic minority community, who have not yet applied, but who are interested in a career as a police officer. The programme aims to help us attract and encourage more applications from ethnic minority individuals, so that our police force is more reflective of the communities we serve.
The programme will provide you with access to the Positive Action team who can signpost you to the right support. The programme will include an initial personal engagement session via Microsoft Teams, this will help us identify how we can best support your career ambitions, and help get you started on your journey to be a Kent Police officer. We will also provide you with all the relevant information, materials and support you may require. There is also the opportunity to take part in our skills workshops:
To take advantage of this, you will need to be a new applicant and not already in our recruitment process. Please register your interest for the programme so that we can make contact with you and offer you the best guidance and support for the role.
