The Police Race Action Plan is an initiative from the College of Policing and the National Police Chiefs’ Council (NPCC) to make the police fairer and more trustworthy, especially for black people who interact with or work within policing. The main points of the plan include:
All police leaders in England and Wales are working together on this plan. It focuses on four main goals:
Kent Police is committed to being anti-racist and inclusive, we welcome community support and feedback to help achieve these goals.
We are integrating the Plan into all aspects of policing. We are setting up groups to hear from the communities and improve our practices based on feedback.
We also have an Independent Advisory Group (IAG) where you can speak with community members about any concerns and gauge opinion on our policing policies, procedures and you can review our actions like stop and search to ensure transparency and build trust. We have a number of IAGs for each Kent district. For further information of to apply visit our Independent Advisory Group (IAG) page.
If you would like to share your thoughts and ideas on how we can drive the Plan forward together, please provide your feedback by completing our short, online form. Your feedback will help us to shape the actions that will form our plan and contribute to improvements within Kent Police and in our interactions with our communities and partners.
