We are closely monitoring the impact of the virus on all our recruitment activities.

Scheduled briefings, interviews, assessments, outreach events and support programmes are being kept under continual review and may be changed at short notice.

Our priority is to make sure you are informed, safe and supported so ask all candidates and new joiners to check back to this page for the latest position in relation to the various recruitment activities being undertaken.

Please be assured that your safety is extremely important to us and we have taken significant steps to reduce the risk of infection for everyone involved in our recruitment activities.

Many recruitment processes are continuing to operate as we have taken significant steps to reduce the risk of infection for all visitors and personnel.

You will find our main recruitment processes outlined below and how any changes may affect you.

  • Intakes – the intake on 26 October is continuing as normal. Please check your emails regularly for any updates.
  • Briefings – all briefings will be conducted virtually.  Please check your emails regularly as we will send out further information. Please be aware that we are currently dealing with high volumes of applications and adjusted virtual processes during the pandemic, as a result there could be a delay in you hearing from us.
  • SEARCH Assessment – this has now been replaced with the College of Policing online assessment process. Candidates that were invited to the September online process will receive their results mid-October and you will be contacted as soon as these have been processed. Any candidates awaiting online assessment will be contacted in due course when a further assessment is available.
  • Interviews - all interviews have now moved to a virtual platform. You will be contacted with further information via email and sent a link for your scheduled interview directly from the recruitment team. The virtual interviews are hosted through a system called Webex, please see the Candidate Webex Guidance for more information.
  • Medicals - all medicals are currently being undertaken via self-declaration and telephone screening. All candidates affected will receive an email from our Business Services team outlining the new process and any candidate action to be taken.
  • Fitness tests – all fitness tests are currently being undertaken via self-declaration and physical testing on day one when candidates join us. All candidates affected will receive an email from our Business Services team outlining the new process and any candidate action to be taken.

  • Interviews - assessments are being progressed virtually and you will be contacted by our Business Services Team to arrange your selection process.

  • Recruitment activity is continuing as far as reasonably possible utilising virtual options.
