Intake date
We are looking for you to join us on a training intake, which is expected to start on
29 January 2024. Our intake after this date is likely to be April/May 2024.
Available PCSO roles
Establish meaningful two-way communication with young people to understand what matters to them. Resolve issues identified through preventative activities using the problem orientated policing (POP) approach.
Establish close and effective working relationships with educational establishments, partner agencies and internal colleagues in order to:
- build trust
- maximise early intervention opportunities
- increase safety
- reduce the fear of crime and victimisation
- disrupt criminal activity
Identify vulnerability and risk amongst children and young people through intelligence gathering, information sharing, positive relationship building and multi-agency problem solving, in order to prevent youth crime and victimisation.
Establish meaningful two-way communication with the local community to understand what matters to them. Resolve issues identified through preventative activities using the problem orientated policing (POP) approach.
Effectively target repetitive problems by focussing on victims, locations, and offenders by providing a visible, flexible and local resource, focussing on:
- control strategy crime types causing harm
- delivering evidence-based solutions to improve public trust
- build community confidence
- reduce offending, anti-social behaviour and the fear of crime
Establish meaningful two-way communication with the rural community to understand what matters to them. Resolve issues identified through preventative activities using the problem orientated policing (POP) approach.
You will:
- work closely with partner agencies, stakeholders, government and non- government organisations
- provide a point of contact for victims of rural, wildlife, environmental, and heritage crime
- contribute directly to force plans and strategies
Locations
We are looking for PCSOs to work in the Ashford, Maidstone, Medway, Northfleet, Sittingbourne and Swanley areas.

We will take into account your preferences, but there is no guarantee these will be offered. We reserve the right to place you into a PCSO role and location based on your skills and organisational need. Therefore, you must be willing to accept a role at any of the above locations.
Please note assessments will be held weekly.
