The role of police constable can be demanding but it's that variety which makes it one of the most rewarding jobs around.
Every day presents a new challenge and you'll deal with different situations to make sure public order is maintained.
You'll be responsible for protecting life and property as well as preventing and detecting crime and working as part of a close team, you’ll help to serve the diverse communities and businesses of Kent.
Join our team as a police officer and you'll receive a starting salary of £26,158 (this includes a £2500 south east allowance). Your salary will increase in yearly increments up to £43,630 within 7 years.
Kent has an estimated population of 1.7 million, making it the fifth most populous county in England.
We are unique in our position, bordering four counties (including London) as well as being the gateway to Europe through a number of large ports and train terminals.
We're home to two cities as well as urban towns and small rural villages, all linked by a large strategic road network - M25, M2, M20 and M26.
We also have Europe’s largest retail and leisure centre - Bluewater - catering for 28 million visitors a year and one of the country's most famous cathedrals in Canterbury.
Needless to say, no two days are ever the same in Kent and we have a large number of specialist teams to help us protect victims, residents, visitors and businesses all across the county.
