The most important part of the job will always be to protect life.
But you'll also be protecting property; preventing and detecting crime; giving evidence in court; supporting victims and witnesses; investigating burglaries and working with our partners to bring down serious and organised crime groups – to name a few.
Through our constant support and dedicated police college we'll prepare you for it all and set you on your way to becoming #MoreThanTheBadge – a Kent Police Officer.
Our background, belief, ethnicity, previous career, all shape who we are. Join Kent Police and let your individuality help shape our future.
We want to hear from those who believe in the importance of trust and respect from others and who hold the same important values as we do.
Starting salary range is: £23,908 to £24,780 plus £2,500 South East allowance. There is the potential to earn up to £41,130 after seven years plus £2,500 South East Allowance.
Kent has an estimated population of 1.7 million, making it the fifth most populous county in England.
We are unique in our position, bordering four counties (including London) as well as being the gateway to Europe through a number of large ports and train terminals.
We're home to a city as well as urban towns and small rural villages, all linked by a large strategic road network - M25, M2, M20 and M26.
We also have Europe’s largest retail and leisure centre - Bluewater - catering for 28 million visitors a year and one of the country's most famous cathedrals in Canterbury.
Needless to say, no two days are ever the same in Kent and we have a large number of specialist teams to help us protect victims, residents, visitors and businesses all across the county.
Great! The next step is to take a look through all of the information in the sections below, making sure you read it carefully.
We'll explain more about what it's like to be a PC, what the eligibility requirements are and what the recruitment process is like.
If you'd like more information, why not attend one of our upcoming events or workshops or you can email the recruitment team. These are great for those wanting some help with their application or to talk through any issues or concerns in person.
Kent Police apply Positive Action in respect of ethnicity as we are under-represented for ethnic minority police officers. If this applies to you, visit our Positive Action pages for further information.
