An exciting opportunity has become available for a Sergeant to join the Positive Action Team on a permanent basis. The role is full time 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday, office hours, with some weekend and evening working required to support outreach and community engagement activity.

This is a highly customer focused role providing an exciting and unique opportunity to gain experience working on a strategic portfolio at a force and national level. Reporting directly to the Positive Action Chief Inspector you will be responsible for leading on and driving the progress of strategic projects relating to attraction, recruitment, retention and progression of underrepresented groups. This role is extremely rewarding, providing a real opportunity to make a difference to our workforce force through supporting progression, retention and recruitment.

To be eligible to transfer to us, you will:

  • hold a full UK manual driving licence (with 6 points or less on it)
  • be currently serving at the required rank; up to Sergeant for current transfer and promotional opportunities, or Inspector, Chief Inspector and Superintendent to register your interest for future opportunities, within a recognised Home Office police force, from the Police Service of Northern Ireland or Police Scotland (to check you're eligible to transfer email our recruitment team  
  • have successfully completed your probationary period
  • have an acceptable performance, attendance and disciplinary record
  • demonstrate a passion and commitment to policing in Kent
  • display full competence against the Competency and values framework for policing and have both experience and competence in investigations and case file preparation.
