Please note: at Stage 2, applicants who have been unsuccessful for promotion in their own force within the previous 12 months will need to provide Kent Police with the specific feedback and development plan that demonstrates they have addressed the development areas. To be eligible to transfer to us, you will:

  • hold a full UK manual driving licence (with 6 points or less on it)
  • be currently serving at the required rank; up to Sergeant for current transfer and promotional opportunities, or Inspector, Chief Inspector and Superintendent to register your interest for future opportunities, within a recognised Home Office police force, from the Police Service of Northern Ireland or Police Scotland (to check you're eligible to transfer email our recruitment team  
  • have successfully completed your probationary period
  • have an acceptable performance, attendance and disciplinary record
  • demonstrate a passion and commitment to policing in Kent
  • display full competence against the Competency and values framework for policing and have both experience and competence in investigations and case file preparation.
