We are looking for the following skills to meet the role requirements:
Eligibility
To work for us you must:
- be 18 years or older
- have permanent right to live in the UK
- have lived in the UK continuously for the last three years (this does not apply if you've been abroad with the British Armed Forces)
- hold a full UK manual driving licence with six points or less on it
- not have any tattoos or piercings which cause offensive, are excessive or deemed unprofessional
- not be registered bankrupt or subject to a County Court Judgement or an Individual Voluntary Arrangement (IVA)
- not be a member of the British National Party or similar organisation
- any previous criminal convictions or cautions (including those spent), fixed penalty notices, traffic offences or any involvement with the police must be declared and they may affect your application
Personal characteristics
You will need to:
- work well under pressure whilst remaining calm
- have a reassuring manner and be able to respond to people in a calm manner
- use own initiative while following procedures
- work as an individual and as part of a team
- resilience to cope with demands of the role - both mentally and physically Our medical standards provide information about some of the conditions that can exclude you from applying for this role
- be able to pass our endurance fitness. All candidates are required to run a 15 metre track in time with bleeps which get increasingly faster. Candidates need to meet level 5.4 on the bleep test to be successful.
If you fail on your first attempt don't worry. You're allowed two more attempts within 12 weeks (second attempt after six weeks, third attempt six weeks later). Our Recruitment Team will advise more on this process at the time. If after the 3rd attempt you are not successful, we will be unable to continue with your application. Essential skills required
