Manage, co-ordinate and oversee all strands of work within the Citizens in Policing function of Kent Police (with exception of the CPVs), taking day to day ownership of issues involving the Special Constabulary, Volunteers and Neighbourhood Watch schemes, Community Speedwatch and the Community Safety Accreditation Scheme, in order to ensure that the Force receives the best possible service and voluntary support from these vital functions.

Manages partnership agreements which address local community and agency needs and contributes to the reduction of crime and disorder. Example: Use intelligence and management information to develop tactical plans to support the implementation of the crime and disorder strategy, taking into account the potential risks to health and safety and the impact on the community. Currently authorised to use these techniques, having received initial or refresher training within the last 12 months. Able to apply these . techniques in practical situations minimising the risk of injury to themselves and ensuring their own safety and the safety of colleagues and members of the public.
Able to adapt the style and content of the training during the course, tailoring the course to the needs of the participating individuals. Delivers a wide range of training packages, on a variety of subjects, and assists with the creation of various distance and flexible learning packages. Tailors courses to meet the current needs of the Force. Produces training plans for approval to rectify skills gaps.
Good working knowledge of victim support techniques both internal and external to the organisation. Able to support victims and other interested parties during an investigation which may lead to a court case. Able to act as an advisor for other staff on support services available.
