Lead the Phoenix Team investigating rape offences working closely with partners including Victim Support, Rape Crisis, Sexual Assault Referral Centre SARC staff and the CPS. Ensure that evidence is captured, cases are fully investigated to a high standard, victims are safeguarded and provided the best quality service and a considered decision is taken about the management of and prosecution of the offender(s). This includes managing demand, alternative resolution, core business strategies and quality assurance, providing strategic and tactical information to the Senior Leadership Team in relation to high risk or high profile investigations. Lead on serious and series crimes, maintaining the integrity and standards of case investigation, acting as senior investigating officer when necessary ensuring high standards of productivity and overseeing the activities of all team members in completing the necessary investigations.

Familiar with procedure with regard to children taken into police protection. Has knowledge of the work of officers of the Social Services, NSPCC and other voluntary agencies in providing on-going support and care for all victims. Demonstrates the ability to successfully gain evidence and bring a case to Court.
