We will be in touch by the end of the business day on which you submitted your application if submitted before 2pm or by 12 midday on the next working day. Your application will be subject to initial eligibility screening before progressing to the next stages of the process.
If you meet our minimum eligibility requirements you can expect to go through the following stages:
Telephone screening –if you are successful at our initial eligibility checks you will be contacted by a member of our recruitment team to undertake a telephone screening process. This can take place either at the time of contact or at a mutually agreeable time. This will help to ensure you understand the role, answer any questions you might have and assess your skills and suitability to be effective in the role. Full details will be provided to you in advance of this screening
Assessment centre – if you are successful at the telephone screening stage, we will invite you to an assessment centre at our force control room in Maidstone. At the assessment centre we will assess your potential to be an effective contact handler and will consider your skills and experience against the role requirement. The assessment centre includes:
typing test (30 words per minute required)
information gathering exercise
Full details of the assessment centre will be emailed to you.
Interview assessments can be offered during evenings and weekends - please just ask.
If you are successful with your application we will make you a conditional offer of employment. This will remain conditional until all vetting and references have been undertaken. We will keep you updated with the progress of your application.

On successful completion of vetting and references checks, we will arrange a start date and look forward to welcoming you to Kent Police.
