Help us educate dog owners around the pitfalls of dog ownership and the value of dogs to thieves.
This role has been created to help us in response to the recent rise in dog theft and lost dogs, which has been seen across the UK. Volunteers will have an interest in dogs and resolving matters of dog theft. Training will be provided.
You will be under the supervision of a regular police officer/community policing volunteer leader, and will support officers and the public by communicating directly with our official partner organisation, Doglost about lost and stolen dogs and relevant advertising campaigns. You will also work with other police forces and agencies.
The aim is to educate dog owners around the value of their dogs to thieves and how best to protect and safeguard their dogs and themselves both at home and when out walking. Promoting microchipping, security, awareness and a sense of canine community.
