This is role mainly focusses on:

  • educating dog owners about their responsibilities
  • trying to reduce dog on dog or animal attacks
  • dangerous dog incidents
  • supporting both owners and victims through empathy
  • providing advice on action that can be taken to remedy incidents relating to irresponsible dog ownership
  • promote responsible dog ownership

There are many educational and enforcement opportunities within this role, supporting the work of police community support officers (PCSOs) and police officers.

You will link in with local dog wardens and charities to support one another in tackling these anti-social behaviour issues. You will be under the supervision of a regular police officer or community policing volunteer leader. You must have an interest in dogs and dog ownership. Training will be provided.
