Keeping pedestrians safe remains a priority for Kent Police. Officers regularly take action against dangerous road user behaviour, including speeding and using a mobile phone while driving, which can put pedestrians and other road users at risk.
Throughout October, officers will carry out roadside eyesight checks to help ensure drivers meet the required visual standards.
As the days become shorter and visibility reduces, pedestrians can help make themselves more visible by wearing reflective clothing or accessories. Reflective materials can be seen by drivers from much greater distances than non-reflective clothing, helping to improve safety on or near the road.
Kent Police is supporting Kent County Council's Be Bright Be Seen campaign, which encourages children and adults to stay visible during the darker months. Find out more about the campaign on the Kent County Council website.
