Our officers and staff work hard in often extremely challenging situations and it's important to us we understand when we've got it right and when we fail to meet expectations. 

We subscribe to the national Code of Ethics in policing as well as set standards for all officers and staff through our Mission, Vision and Values and Priorities.  

Make a complaint

You can only make an official complaint about the conduct of a Kent Police officer (or special constable), a staff member or one of our contractors if:
 

  • You were directly affected.
  • You witnessed it (but not if you simply saw it on TV or read about it online).
  • It didn't happen to you but you were adversely affected - for example you either suffered loss, damage, distress, inconvenience, were put in danger / at risk or know the person it happend to.
  • The person it happened to has given you written consent to act on their behalf.

You can also make a complaint about our decisions on how the force is run.
