Request fingerprints

Request fingerprints
Upon request, fingerprints can be taken for non-policing purposes, such as:
  • emigration
  • visas
  • good conduct certificates
  • any other reasonable request from a government, embassy or agency which is supported by official documentation (includes both UK and international requests)

What to do

You must go to a Kent Police station front counter and bring photographic identification (e.g. a passport). This also applies to applications for fingerprints for children.
You’ll be asked to pay a fee (see below) by either cash or cheque. Once this has been paid you’ll receive a letter with a selection of appointment dates and times at various police offices around the county where the fingerprints will be taken.

How much it costs

Current charges are:
  • One set - £75.18+VAT (£90.22)
  • Additional sets - £37.54+VAT (£45.05)
Fingerprints required for Abu Dhabi, Canada, Jamaica, Japan, Nigeria, St Vincent & The Grenadines, United Arab Emirates (UAE) & Qatar, Zambia or Zimbabwe are exempt from VAT.
