Chief Inspector Mitchell FoxCommunity policing

Your district commander is Chief Inspector Mitchell Fox.

The Community Safety Unit (CSUs) for Dover and Canterbury deal with local crime and safety issues.

Officers in the CSUs work alongside staff from other agencies, including Dover District Council and Canterbury City Council.

They aim to create a safe environment for you by reducing crime and anti-social behaviour. Working alongside your local PCSO, the CSUs have an important role in community policing.

You also have a Local District Policing Team. This is a group of officers who:
  • respond to calls for assistance after you've dialled 999 or 101 (these calls go through to our Control Room*)
  • investigate local crime
  • carry out patrols
*Our Force Control Room is the first point of contact if you call Kent Police for help. They take 999 emergency calls and 101 non-emergency calls.
