Neighbourhood Policing Team
Your Neighbourhood Policing Team is made up of local officers and police community support officers, led by a sergeant and inspector. They’re based in your area and supported by the wider Kent Police team.
We work with councils, community groups and local leaders to tackle the issues that matter most, finding long-term solutions and reducing crime.
We publish the meetings and events we plan to attend, but attendance depends on operational priorities.

Road safety issues.
Action taken:
Officers have carried out targeted road safety operations across the area, with a particular focus on speeding. During three dedicated days of action, more than 25 speeding tickets were issued, including to drivers using the A252.
Officers have also carried out enforcement activity on roads with a history of collisions, including the A20 Hythe Road in Smeeth, to help improve safety and reduce the risk of further incidents. Local officers continue to work with parish councils and Community Speedwatch groups to address concerns raised by residents and target enforcement activity where it is needed most.

Wildlife crime issues.
Action taken:
Officers continue to work with the Rural Task Force to tackle wildlife crime, including reports of poaching in the Westwell, Eastwell, Charing and Brabourne areas.
Following recent incidents, officers seized vehicles linked to suspected poaching activity and enquiries remain ongoing to identify those responsible. Regular patrols are carried out in known hotspot locations, and officers will continue to stop and disrupt suspicious vehicles where appropriate. Residents are encouraged to report any suspicious activity, as information from the public plays an important role in helping officers prevent wildlife crime and protect rural communities.

Officers continue to work with Ashford Borough Council to tackle fly-tipping through joint patrols and enforcement activity. By sharing information and intelligence, officers and council teams have targeted suspected illegal waste carriers through proactive vehicle stops and compliance checks. Further joint days of action are planned in response to concerns raised by local parish councils and residents, helping to prevent fly-tipping and protect the local environment.
