Criminal damage.
Issued 17 July 2026
Officers continue to work with local schools to address concerns about graffiti and criminal damage in the area. Engagement with schools has helped raise awareness of the impact of this behaviour and has contributed to a reduction in reports of graffiti-related incidents. Officers continue to patrol locations where concerns have been raised and respond to reports from the community.
As part of ongoing work to tackle antisocial behaviour and criminal damage, a 17-year-old was arrested and issued with a Community Protection Warning. A Community Protection Warning is a formal warning given when a person's behaviour is having a negative impact on the community. Conditions have been put in place to prevent further incidents, and officers continue to carry out checks to ensure these are being followed. Through ongoing patrols, engagement and enforcement activity, officers continue to work to improve community safety and reduce antisocial behaviour in the area.

Catapults.
Issued 17 July 2026
Officers continue to work with local schools, partner organisations and the community to tackle catapult-related antisocial behaviour and wildlife crime in the Tenterden and St Michael's areas. Increased patrols are carried out in locations where concerns have been raised, helping to deter offending and identify those responsible. Officers also use Community Protection Warnings and Acceptable Behaviour Agreements where appropriate. A Community Protection Warning is a formal warning given when a person's behaviour is having a negative impact on the community. An Acceptable Behaviour Agreement is a voluntary agreement between a young person, their family and partner agencies that sets out clear expectations for future behaviour and encourages positive choices.
Officers continue to act on information provided by residents, schools and Neighbourhood Watch groups. As a result of proactive patrols in the St Michael's area, one individual was arrested after being found in possession of a catapult that was considered an offensive weapon. Enquiries remain ongoing. Through enforcement, education and partnership working, officers continue to address catapult-related offending and help protect local residents and wildlife.
