Neighbourhood Policing Team
Your Neighbourhood Policing Team is made up of local officers and police community support officers, led by a sergeant and inspector. They’re based in your area and supported by the wider Kent Police team.
We work with councils, community groups and local leaders to tackle the issues that matter most, finding long-term solutions and reducing crime.
We publish the meetings and events we plan to attend, but attendance depends on operational priorities.

Road safety issues.
Action taken:
Several drivers have been reported for motoring offences including offences of driving without third party insurance, driving without a valid MOT and driving whilst under the influence of drink or drugs. One driver who was arrested for suspected drug drive related matters remains on police bail whilst his blood specimen is analysed. Aside from general patrolling stops, the Ashford Neighbourhood Policing Team have had local road policing day of action across the area which resulted in 21 vehicles penalised for various motoring matters including speeding.

Patrolling has taken place in hotspot locations such as Hythe Road and Canterbury Road which commute in and out of the town from residential areas during school and commuting hours. Patrolling has seen an observed reduction of e-scooters and e-bikes locally. E-bikes are being stopped and checked for compliance. Checks were completed on 1 cyclist modified e-bike, but it was found to be compliant. Patrolling of the area for improper use will continue.
