  • Priority:

    Action taken:

  • Priority:

    Road safety issues.

    Issued 14 April 2026

    Action taken:

Officers have carried out targeted days of action focused on improving road safety and addressing concerns raised by the community. These operations have included speed checks and enforcement activity, with tickets issued for offences such as speeding and failing to wear a seatbelt. Vehicles have also been seized where drivers were found to be using them without valid insurance.

This work supports national campaigns focused on the Fatal Four – the four behaviours most commonly linked to people being killed or seriously injured on the roads: speeding, drink or drug driving, failing to wear a seatbelt and using a mobile phone while driving.

Community engagement events have also taken place, giving residents the opportunity to discuss local road safety concerns directly with neighbourhood officers. This feedback helps ensure enforcement and road safety activity is targeted where it is needed most. Officers will continue to carry out patrols and enforcement activity to improve road safety and help keep local roads safe for all users.

    Actioned 30 June 2026

  • Priority:

    E-scooters/e-bikes.

    Issued 14 April 2026

    Action taken:

Officers are taking proactive action against the illegal use of e-scooters and e-bikes. Vehicles that have been seized as part of enforcement activity are removed and, where appropriate, destroyed to prevent further offending.

Recent operations have resulted in seizures following reports of nuisance riding in Beaver Road and around the Ashford Designer Outlet. Dedicated days of action continue in identified hotspot areas, helping to deter antisocial behaviour and improve public safety.

Officers are also visiting local schools to educate young people about the risks and legal implications of using e-scooters and e-bikes unlawfully. Through a combination of enforcement, education and community engagement, we aim to reduce nuisance vehicle use and keep public spaces safe for everyone.

  • Priority:

    Antisocial behaviour - general.

    Issued 14 April 2026

    Action taken:

We have responded to reports of antisocial behaviour linked to suspected cannabis cultivation and other related issues within the area. Following information received, officers carried out enquiries, obtained warrants and took enforcement action, resulting in arrests and the closure of two large cannabis grow sites.

Officers have also worked closely with Ashford Borough Council and local housing providers to address nuisance neighbour and housing-related concerns. This partnership approach helps identify underlying issues, support those affected and prevent further problems from developing. We will continue to work with partner agencies, act on information provided by residents and take appropriate action to tackle antisocial behaviour and criminal activity within the community.
