Catapults.

Officers continue to work with partner organisations to address concerns about catapult-related antisocial behaviour and wildlife crime in the Bockhanger and Bybrook areas. Increased high-visibility patrols have been carried out in hotspot locations identified by residents and Neighbourhood Watch groups, helping to deter offending and identify those responsible.

This work has resulted in an Acceptable Behaviour Agreement and a Community Protection Warning being issued to help prevent further incidents and encourage positive behaviour. A Community Protection Warning is a formal warning given when a person's behaviour is having a negative impact on the community. Officers continue to work with those involved and monitor compliance to help prevent further offending.

Proactive patrols have also led to 3 catapults being seized in the Repton area and a further catapult being seized at The Ridge, Kennington. Through ongoing enforcement, education and partnership working, officers continue to tackle catapult misuse, protect local wildlife and improve community safety.

Road safety issues.

Following an increase in reports of antisocial and dangerous driving in the local area, officers have been working in partnership with McDonald's, Chart Road to identify and tackle offending vehicles. Regular patrols and targeted enforcement activity have been carried out at key locations where concerns have been raised by residents and local businesses. Intelligence gathered through these operations has enabled officers to identify several vehicles involved in antisocial driving, including excessive speeding, unnecessary revving of engines, and other driving behaviour that places road users at risk. Appropriate enforcement action is being taken against drivers found to be committing offences with warnings issued and vehicle seized if they re-offend. We are continuing to monitor the area and respond to community concerns. Residents are encouraged to continue reporting incidents so that further action can be taken against those responsible.

Nuisance motorcycles.

A dedicated operation has recently been carried out in partnership with the Roads Policing Unit to target the ongoing issue of nuisance and illegal motorbike use within the area. The operation focused on identifying riders using motorcycles in an antisocial manner, including riding on footpaths, public open spaces and other areas where motorcycles are prohibited. Officers conducted patrols at key locations identified through community reports from the public, neighbourhood watch and partners. Areas of focus was the Bybrook and Bockhanger areas. The operation provided opportunities to engage with riders, gather intelligence and take enforcement action where offences were identified. Work is ongoing to identify repeat offenders and tackle the issues that nuisance motorcycles can cause to residents. We continue to respond to reports and follow up enquiries where there is evidence of nuisance motorcycles.
