Action taken:
Officers have carried out targeted days of action focused on improving road safety and addressing concerns raised by local residents. These operations have included speed checks, roadside enforcement and proactive patrols in areas where road safety issues have been identified.
As part of this work, officers have issued tickets for offences including speeding and failing to wear a seatbelt. Vehicles have also been seized when drivers were found to be using them without valid insurance. This enforcement activity supports national road safety campaigns targeting the Fatal Four – the four behaviours most commonly linked to people being killed or seriously injured on the roads. These are speeding, drink or drug driving, failing to wear a seatbelt and using a mobile phone while driving.
In addition to enforcement activity, officers have attended community events to speak directly with residents about local road safety concerns. These conversations help officers identify problem areas; understand the issues affecting local communities and target future patrols and enforcement activity where it is needed most. Officers will continue to carry out road safety operations and work with residents to help make local roads safer for everyone.

E-scooters/e-bikes.
Action taken:
Officers are taking action against the illegal use of e‑scooters and e‑bikes, with seized vehicles removed and destroyed.
Recent activity includes seizures following nuisance riding in Beaver Road and at Ashford Outlet. Dedicated days of action continue in hotspot areas.
Officers are also speaking with young people leaving schools to raise awareness of the risks and dangers of using e‑scooters and e‑bikes.

Action taken:
We have received reports of antisocial behaviour, including cannabis growing. Officers have gathered information, obtained warrants (legal permission to search a property) and taken action, leading to arrests and the dismantling of two large cannabis grows in the area.
We have also responded to nuisance neighbour and housing issues, working with Ashford Borough Council and housing providers to resolve concerns and help prevent further problems.
