Road safety issues.
Action taken:
Speeding and the use of off-road bikes continue to be concerns within the ward and remain local policing priorities. Officers have carried out speed checks in the area and will continue this work to encourage safer driving and improve road safety. As part of these efforts, increased foot patrols have also been carried out in locations identified as hotspots for off-road bike activity. During recent enforcement activity, 3 Traffic Offence Reports (TOR) were issued to drivers who were observed exceeding the speed limit. A TOR is a formal record created by police when someone is suspected of committing a road traffic offence and may result in a fixed penalty notice, a driver education course or a court appearance. Officers will continue to target speeding and antisocial vehicle use to help keep local roads and public spaces safe for everyone.

Fly tipping.
Action taken:
Fly-tipping, which is the illegal dumping of waste, was identified in Blean by the local neighbourhood policing team and reported to the council. The council has since taken action to clear the waste and address the issue. Responsibility for removing and enforcing offences related to fly-tipping sits with the local authority, and neighbourhood officers will continue to report any further incidents they discover during patrols. By working closely with the council, officers aim to help keep the area clean, protect the local environment and improve the quality of life for residents.

Highway obstructions.
Action taken:
Your local neighbourhood officers have carried out patrols in the area and have not identified any significant highway obstructions. A highway obstruction is anything that blocks or interferes with the safe use of a road, pavement or public right of way. Responsibility for dealing with most highway obstructions sits with the local council. However, if concerns are reported to Kent Police, officers will work with the council and share relevant information to help ensure issues are assessed and addressed by the appropriate authority. This partnership approach helps to maintain safe access for motorists, cyclists, pedestrians and other road users.
