    Action taken:

  • Priority:

    E-scooters/e-bikes.

    Issued 22 April 2026

    Action taken:

Officers carried out a number of e-scooter seizures across Herne Bay between April and June as part of ongoing efforts to improve road safety and tackle the unlawful use of these vehicles. Alongside enforcement action, officers also provided advice and education to e-scooter users to help them understand the laws and safety risks associated with their use. Police remain committed to identifying and stopping e-scooters being used illegally and taking appropriate action against repeat offenders where necessary. Information provided by local residents during community engagement activities has helped officers identify hotspot locations, allowing patrols and enforcement activity to be targeted more effectively. This partnership between the community and police is helping to improve safety and address concerns about the misuse of e-scooters in the area.

  • Priority:

    Nuisance motorcycles.

    Issued 22 April 2026

    Action taken:

Kent Police has received reports of nuisance bikes being used in the Herne and Broomfield area, particularly around the local BMX track and a nearby park. In response, officers carried out targeted patrols between April and June in the locations highlighted by residents. Although no nuisance motorbikes were identified during these patrols, the concerns raised by the community are recognised and continue to be taken seriously. Nuisance bike use can cause noise, distress and safety concerns for local residents, particularly when vehicles are ridden illegally or in inappropriate locations. Officers will continue to carry out patrols, gather information and look for opportunities to identify those responsible and take appropriate action to address the issue within the ward.

  • Priority:

    Road safety issues.

    Issued 22 April 2026

    Action taken:

We have been working alongside the local council to address parking concerns around a local school. This partnership approach has included speaking with drivers who were parked in contravention of parking restrictions and providing advice about safe and considerate parking. Officers have also supported council enforcement officers while they carried out their duties, helping to prevent situations from escalating and ensuring that enforcement activity could take place safely. Poor parking around schools can create risks for children, parents, carers and other road users, making road safety a key priority. Police will continue to work with the parish council and other partners to address parking concerns and encourage safer behaviour in the area.

    Actioned 30 June 2026
