Road safety issues.

During patrols, PC Roy and a colleague stopped a driver who was seen using a mobile phone while driving. The driver was issued with a Traffic Offence Report (TOR) and dealt with for the offence. A TOR is a formal record created by police when someone is suspected of committing a road traffic offence and may result in a fixed penalty notice, a driver education course or a court appearance. Road safety remains a key priority within the ward, and officers continue to carry out regular patrols and enforcement activity to tackle unsafe driving, improve safety on local roads and protect all road users.

Antisocial behaviour - nuisance.

There were no reports of antisocial behaviour within the ward during April, and only one report relating to nuisance behaviour involving young people during May and June. Antisocial behaviour includes actions that cause nuisance, alarm or distress to others, such as disorderly behaviour, vandalism or persistent disruptive conduct. Officers continue to work proactively to prevent antisocial behaviour through regular engagement with residents, attendance at community meetings and responding to concerns raised by local people. High-visibility foot patrols have also been carried out in locations identified as potential antisocial behaviour hotspots. These patrols provide reassurance to the community, help deter offending and enable officers to identify and address any issues at an early stage.

Nuisance motorcycles.

PC Roy has been reviewing CCTV footage to help identify individuals involved in reported incidents of nuisance motorcycle use. This work is ongoing and forms part of wider efforts to tackle antisocial and unsafe riding within the community. Alongside reviewing footage, officers are carrying out further enquiries, targeted patrols and intelligence-led activity to gather information and identify those responsible. Intelligence-led policing uses information gathered from reports, patrols and investigations to focus resources where they are most needed. PC Roy will continue to take a proactive approach to deter nuisance riding, address offences and help keep local roads and public spaces safe for residents.
