Dog fouling.
Issued 22 April 2026
Local neighbourhood officers have carried out patrols across the area and have not identified any significant issues with dog fouling. However, they will continue to discuss the matter with residents during future community engagement events to identify any locations where the problem is most common. This information will be shared with the local council, which is responsible for enforcing offences related to dog fouling and can take action where necessary. Officers will also work with council partners to explore whether additional dog waste bins are needed in identified hotspot locations. This partnership approach helps to keep public spaces clean, safe and welcoming for residents and visitors.

Drug taking.
Issued 22 April 2026
We received one report concerning suspected drug-related activity in the area after a member of the public reported witnessing what they believed to be a drug deal. In response, officers carried out targeted patrols in the location to deter offending, gather information and identify anyone involved in drug-related activity. These patrols help provide reassurance to local residents and enable officers to respond quickly to concerns raised by the community. Police will continue to monitor the area and take appropriate action to tackle drug-related activity and help keep the community safe.

E-scooters/e-bikes.
Issued 22 April 2026
We have received one report relating to an e-bike and one report relating to a quad bike. The illegal or antisocial use of these vehicles remains an ongoing concern across Herne Bay and is an issue that local neighbourhood officers continue to focus on. High-visibility patrols and marked police vehicles have been deployed in the area to deter offending, provide reassurance to residents and identify those responsible for unsafe or unlawful behaviour. Officers will continue to monitor and patrol the area, and any unlawful use of e-bikes or quad bikes identified will be dealt with appropriately. High-visibility patrols have also carried out speed checks along the seafront as part of ongoing efforts to improve road safety and address concerns raised by the community.
