  • Priority:

    Action taken:

  • Priority:

    Fly tipping.

    Issued 16 April 2026

    Action taken:

PC Swan has worked closely with Dartford Borough Council to identify areas that may be vulnerable to waste crime, such as the illegal dumping, storage or transportation of waste, and to find ways of better protecting these locations. He has also completed additional training that allows him to issue fines to people who breach a Public Space Protection Order (PSPO). A PSPO is a legal order introduced by a local council to tackle behaviours that have a negative effect on the community, such as littering, street drinking or other forms of antisocial behaviour. In addition, PC Swan has supported Trading Standards and the Environment Agency in carrying out roadside checks to identify illegal waste carriers. Waste carriers must be authorised to transport and dispose of waste safely and legally. These checks have helped identify vehicles linked to offences, and action has been taken to investigate and prosecute those responsible where appropriate.

  • Priority:

    Nuisance motorcycles.

    Issued 16 April 2026

    Action taken:

PC Swan has organised targeted days of action to address concerns about riders who are causing problems in the area and the vehicles associated with them. As a result of this work, some riders have been issued with Traffic Offence Reports (TOR) and are due to appear in court. A TOR is a formal record created by police when someone is suspected of committing a road traffic offence. Depending on the offence, this can lead to a fixed penalty notice, a driver education course or a court appearance. PC Swan continues to work closely with partner agencies to increase CCTV coverage in the areas most affected, helping to identify offenders and hold them accountable for their actions. Officers are also issuing fines to people who breach the conditions of a Public Space Protection Order (PSPO). A PSPO is a legal order introduced by a local council to tackle behaviours that have a negative impact on the community, such as nuisance vehicle use, littering, street drinking or other forms of antisocial behaviour.

  • Priority:

    Road safety.

    Issued 16 April 2026

    Action taken:

PC Swan has increased patrols in the area to tackle poor driving and improve road safety. As part of this work, he has issued Traffic Offence Reports (TOR) and spoken directly with drivers about safe and legal driving. A TOR is a formal record created by police when someone is suspected of committing a road traffic offence. Depending on the circumstances, this can lead to a fixed penalty notice, a driver education course or a court appearance. Over the past 3 months, several vehicles have been seized because of safety concerns relating to the way they were being driven, as well as other road traffic offences. PC Swan is also exploring opportunities to introduce future Speedwatch campaigns. Speedwatch is a community scheme that allows trained volunteers to work alongside the police to monitor vehicle speeds in their local area. The aim is to raise awareness of speeding and encourage safer driving within the community.
