Drug dealing.

PC Andrews has carried out proactive patrols across the ward to address community concerns and help prevent crime. As part of this work, officers have conducted a number of stop checks, where people or vehicles are stopped so officers can make enquiries and address concerns about suspected criminal activity. Through regular engagement with residents, local businesses and community groups, information has been gathered about locations where suspected drug dealing may be taking place. This has enabled officers to focus patrols more effectively, directing resources to the areas of greatest concern and supporting ongoing efforts to disrupt drug-related activity and keep the community safe.

Drug use.

PC Andrews has been working closely with the local council to address concerns about drug use within the community, including activity taking place in residential properties. As part of this partnership approach, a Community Protection Notice (CPN) has been issued to one address. A CPN is a legal notice that can be used to stop ongoing behaviour that is having a negative impact on the local community. It sets out actions that must be taken to address the issue and can lead to further enforcement action if the requirements are not followed. This work aims to reduce drug-related activity and tackle the antisocial behaviour that is often associated with it, helping to improve the quality of life for local residents.

Shoplifting.

PC Andrews has supported a number of police operations across the division aimed at identifying and tackling people involved in shoplifting and other crimes affecting local businesses. Reducing shoplifting remains a priority, and neighbourhood officers continue to work proactively to identify offenders, support retailers and prevent further offences. This includes carrying out patrols, gathering information and working with businesses to share intelligence and improve crime prevention measures. Co-op stores are also working with police forces across the country as part of a national effort to reduce shoplifting and help protect shop workers, customers and local communities from crime.
